New Community in Ballard!

Downtown Cornerstone is a community of communities scattered throughout the city, declaring and displaying the gospel of Jesus Christ in relationship to each other and the city. These are communities of diverse, imperfect people that are committed to living out the implications of the gospel in every sphere of life. Earlier this year, we launched a new community in Ballard! Craig will be leading this newly-formed community, so we asked him to answer a few questions about the people, vision, and prayer requests for the new Ballard community.

Q: WHAT ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT IN LAUNCHING THIS NEW COMMUNITY IN BALLARD?

I’m excited to get our first community started in Ballard so that those of us that are a part of DCC that live in or near the neighborhood can be on mission together in our neighborhood. I’m looking forward to seeing how God decides to work in the neighborhood through this community to make disciples of His Son.

Q: WHO WILL BE A PART OF THIS NEW COMMUNITY?

We have a strong core of folks that live in or near Ballard that have previously been a part of other communities, so we are excited to bring our mission back to our neighborhood. People from all ages and walks of life are welcome to be a part of our community!

Q: WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR THE BALLARD COMMUNITY?

The vision is for us to live out our identity as followers of Jesus together, not just on Tuesday nights and Sunday mornings, but all week. We want to do this by growing together to know God better, loving each other like family, serving each other as we have been served by Jesus, and being missionaries together to the people that God has put in our lives.

Q: ANY SPECIFIC WAYS WE CAN BE PRAYING?

Please be praying for God to help us build deeper relationships with our neighbors in Ballard so that we can love them well and share the Gospel with them. Also that the Holy Spirit would be at work bringing many people to faith in Jesus in our neighborhood.
