Starting Sunday, March 29th, DCC will gather at 2333 Western at 9:00AM and 11:15AM.

Moving to  2333 Western

After years of searching and months of negotiating, we signed a five-year lease on the building at 2333 Western in Belltown! Jesus heard and answered our prayers in a very dramatic way. This space was previously occupied by the downtown campus of Mars Hill Church and was sold to a property holding company when they moved. As a result, this building has been empty for the last two and a half years. Jesus has been kind to preserve the work and investment of those brothers and sisters in Christ who have gone before us – and we get to be the beneficiaries. But keep in mind, this isn’t a particular church’s building – this is Jesus’ building and he’s passed the baton to us for this next season. Our role is to faithfully steward this gift of grace and trust him where he leads.  Read more on Why do we want a building?

MOVING TO TWO GATHERINGS

Coinciding with our move to this building, we will also move to  two gatherings at 9:00 AM and 11:15 AM. This is due to the building having a smaller main gathering space than AMC Theaters. Ultimately, moving to two gatherings will open up more seats for more folks to hear about Jesus.  Read more on Why are we moving to 2 gatherings?

Sunday Volunteer Needs

If you call DCC home and have not yet found a way to serve, you are needed! As a family on mission in the city, we rely on the faithful service of our people to make things run. Please consider serving as there are new teams being formed to meet our growing needs. Areas of particular need include:  Beverage, Connect Desk, Financial Stewards, Greeting, Support/Security, and Cornerstone Kids.  Start by filling out an info card on Sunday morning, tell a leader after our Sunday gathering or email .

BUILDING VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP

We need to get the building ready! Our plan is to do as much work as we can in order to get in by March 29th and then carry out smaller, lesser priority projects after our move. So, you can expect cosmetic changes over the next few months. Many of you have already graciously expressed interest in helping get our new space prepared, and have even offered particular gifts or services. To help keep track of all this we have created a volunteer sign-up form. If you’re able to help in any capacity, please consider completing this form.

BUILDING FINANCIAL GIVING

By God’s grace, we have been saving funds for a more permanent gathering space from the very beginning. Therefore we do not need to launch a major capital campaign in order to move. Thank you to all who have given regularly, sacrificially, and cheerfully. Our glad giving makes this move a lot easier. At the same time, we know that this space will likely not be our permanent home. Therefore, we must continue to save in order to purchase a more permanent space in the future (for example, a standard 20% down payment on a $5 million building is $1 million. That’s a lot of savings). In light of that, we have created a separate “Building Fund” for us to collectively contribute (above and beyond our normal giving) in order to minimize the amount of savings that we use for this move. You can access that fund here.

FAQ

Q: When will the gatherings be? When will this start?
Starting Sunday,March 29th our gathering times will be at 9am and 11:15am at 2333 Western Ave, located in the Belltown neighborhood.

Q: Who will be preaching and leading in song at each gathering?
Both gatherings will have the same preacher and band.

Q: What will be different about each gathering?
Generally speaking, apart from the Spirit moving otherwise, the overall flow and feel of both gatherings will be the same.

Q: Where will I park?
There are three primary places to park on Sundays. First, families, first-time visitors and those with any special needs may park for free in the two lots adjacent to our building (see map below). Second, for everyone else, you may park in the Art Institute parking garage and we will validate your parking. Again, unlike when we were at AMC, parking validation will now be for everyone. Just be sure to get a stamp on the way out. Third, for the time being, all street parking downtown remains free on Sunday. So, if you’re able to snag a spot near the building, have at it.

Q: Where will I drop off my kids for Cornerstone Kids? Can I pre-register?
Families can drop off their kids, with an adult, at the Cornerstone Kids entrance in the alley behind the building (see map above). There will be signage and volunteers directing the way. The CKids space and registration is just a short walk into the building. More information is available on the Cornerstone Kids group on The City. To expedite the check-in process, you can pre-register HERE.
