Today we continue our series in the Gospel of Luke, one of four eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ words and works. In them we learn of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection to rescue a people of his own from among the nations—even us. Today, we get a another glimpse into his early ministry, this time on the shores of the Galilee, as he calls Peter to be a disciple. Here we are shown that to be a Christian is to be rescued, and rescuing, by the convicting wonder of Jesus.
