Mercy Ministries

Our vision for mercy ministry at DCC is centered on upholding the value and dignity of God’s most vulnerable image bearers, so that we might both declare the good news of Jesus Christ and be a display of that good news to our city.

A People Devoted to Good Works

Paul’s letter to Titus calls for Christians to adhere to sound doctrine and godly living in all spheres of their lives—in the church, in their households, and among the non-believers in the world. Paul summarizes this godly behavior, which comes from and accords with sound doctrine, as “good works” which he says are excellent and profitable for people (3:8) and helpful to those in urgent need (3:14). He calls Christians, because of the grace they have received in Christ, to be examples of (2:7), zealous for (2:14), and devoted to good works (3:8,14). Homelessness

Our focus on Homelessness includes serving alongside Union Gospel Mission to reach the men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in our city. Read more »

Our focus on Refugees includes serving alongside World Relief to welcome refugees and asylees arriving in King County. Read more »

The LIFE Project

Our focus on Life includes a partnership with CareNet Pregnancy & Family Services, which operates a number of life-affirming resource centers and mobile units that provide ultrasounds, STI testing, and counseling to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Read more »
