Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
– 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Care and Counseling with DCC

It is important to us that each individual member in the DCC family is supported and cared for in various seasons of life. We work to foster a culture of discipleship where mutually encouraging relationships are built into daily and weekly rhythms of our life together (Gal. 6:2). We hope that everyone with DCC is involved in meaningful, honest relationships and walking in humble service to one another.

Care

Our Care Ministry is meant to help us live out our calling in Galatians 6:9-10: “Do not grow weary in doing good…As we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, especially those of the household of faith”. As members, this may look like coordinating resources, assisting with meals, or simply offering our time and gifts to other members.

If you are a DCC Member wanting to help care for other members, use this form to let us know what skills, time, and resources you may have to be able to meet needs as they arise among our body.

Biblical Counseling

Our Counseling Ministry is meant to serve those in the church who desire more in-depth pastoral counseling and support. In a fallen world, we all struggle under the weight of sin and its effects, and we all have seasons that are especially trying. Thankfully, God has not left us without help, and He has not left us alone! We would love to walk alongside you if you are experiencing a particularly difficult time.

Our approach to counseling is shaped by a Christ-centered view of human life as found in the Scriptures, which takes seriously the spiritual, physical, social, psychological, and developmental nature of our difficulties. We believe that people can be changed, built up, and restored as they come to understand their lives in light of the transforming gospel of Christ.

*If you are looking for biblical counseling outside of our local church, we recommend people use Fieldstone Counseling. Fieldstone offers a more flexible and virtual option for counseling that aligns with our practices and theology. If expense is a barrier to accessing biblical counseling through Fieldstone, DCC offers financial assistance for members. Those seeking financial assistance should list Downtown Cornerstone Church as their “Third Party Payer” when getting started with Fieldstone.
