Our Ambition to Spread the Gospel Where Jesus is Not Named

, Media, New Year Essentials 2022, Romans, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

New Year Essentials 2022

We conclude a set of annual sermons we refer to as our new year essentials. These sermons address subjects and important themes that we must repeatedly return to for the glory of God and the transformation of our inner and outer lives. These are not, of course, the same sermons. Rather, they are different sermons, taking different angles, on issues we need to come back to again-and-again. Today, we get insight into the Apostle Paul’s missionary strategy and encouragement to spread the gospel where Jesus is not yet named.

God’s Glory as Fuel for God’s Mission

New Year Essentials 2020

This sermon concludes a set of annual sermons we refer to as our New Year Essentials. These sermons address subjects and important themes that we must repeatedly return to for the glory of God and the transformation of our inner and outer lives. These are not, of course, the same sermons. Rather, they are different sermons, taking different angles, on issues we need to come back to again-and-again. Today, in Isaiah 40:12-26, we consider God’s glory as the fuel for God’s mission.

The Wonder of Jesus’ Local Church

, Media, New Year Essentials 2019, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

New Year Essentials 2019

Today we are considering the role of the local church in God’s unfolding story. What is the point of the local church? Is there a point? Wrestling with these questions is, if you will, essential. The local church is God’s Plan A for the advancement of his purposes in the world and in our lives. If we want to participate in the fullness of his purposes, we must embrace his chosen vehicle for advancing them.

From Our Neighborhoods to the Nations

, Media, New Year Essentials 2018, Sermons | by Pastor Adam Sinnett

New Year Essentials 2018
What is the mission of Jesus’ church? Why does it exist? In a word, what is the church for? What is our role in that? Those are the kinds of questions we’ll explore today in light of Matthew 28:16-20. What we’ll discover is that, yes, Jesus’ church has a massive, far-reaching purpose. His church is central to God’s unfolding story of redemption, across continents and millennia, among the neighborhoods of Seattle and the nations of the world, and every follower of Jesus is called to be a part of it.

Missionary: Living Sent

, Disciple: Living For Jesus, Media, Sermons | by Pastor David Parker

Disciple: Living For Jesus

This morning we are continuing our six-week summer series called Disciple: Living for Jesus. Our on going hope in this series is to provide some theological handles for understanding who we are 'in Christ' and some practical applications for living in light of that. Last week we looked at how the gospel brings us together as a new people, and today, we will continue our study and examine what it means to live as sent people here in Seattle.
