Scripture Memory and Catechisms are established methods of discipleship within Christ’s church. We can trace scripture memory back to the Old Testament (Psalm 119:11), and Catechisms, questions and answers about Christian beliefs, to the early church. Yet, both seem to have lost their influence in our day. As a church, we want to create a culture where both Scripture Memory and Catechisms foster greater knowledge of our Lord’s teachings and transformation of our hearts and minds (Romans 12:2).
Every Sunday Gathering, there is a new Verse and Catechism on the back of your handout. As His saints, let us encourage each other to hear and know these truths (Psalm 85:8). There are numerous ways we can use these in our shared life together:
